The Energy Auditing Scheme (EAS) is a compulsory energy assessment and energy saving identification scheme which applies to large businesses in Ireland. The Energy Auditing Scheme was established by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) on behalf of the DCENR in response to the requirement for all Member States of the European Union to implement Article 8 of the Energy Efficiency Directive – the directive has been transposed into Irish Law as Statutory Instrument (SI) 426 of 2014, part 3 of which covers energy audits.

All qualifying organisations must carry out their ESOS assessment and notify the Environment Agency by 5 December 2015. The Internet was invented in order to use the capacities of mainframe computers more effectively.
